   I was looking for a good quality drain for our bathroom remodel. Installed what I figured would be a good product for the price but because of the concave design and the size of the holes the sink won’t drain and I have standing water.
   Horrible design!

   Slow to drain, but does drain ie sink fills 1/3 to a half full while water running until air bubble forces water down through drain. Hasn’t overflowed yet, but I wonder if it might happen sometime. I just installed two Kohler grid drains and they do not have this issue and look great so I’m replacing this one with the Kohler grid drain..

   This is a nicely designed drain without any obstructions in the throat. As a result it keeps down mold growth, because there are fewer nooks-and-crannies for mold to attach. The one flaw of this product is the drain strainer. The strainer is too thick, and the holes are a little too small, so it runs very slowly. However, if you are adventurous, you can knock out the strainer with a heavy stick (inserted from the bottom) and a hammer tap or two (the strainer is just glued in). You can get a replacement strainer, like the Danco 80062 9D000 1-5/8″ Metal Drain Strainer, and then it works very well. This also allows you to remove the strainer when needed for cleaning, which is a big plus.
