   The pump stops working once the soap reservoir gets to about 50% of capacity. Then when refilled, you have to pump it a gazillion times to get it to prime. Super frustrating.

   The dispenser fits neatly into the aperture pre-drilled in the border of a Kraus sink, and it looks good sitting there, sleek and promisingly functional. Alas, the promise of functionality quickly evaporated with the dispenser Kraus sent me. After a day or two, the internal spring or lift that sucks up another spurt of soap after one has pressed the top of the dispenser down simply gave out. This meant that I had to remove the blasted thing from the aperture and pump it in and out to get any soap. After a week of repeated attempts to fix the defective spring, I gave up. The nifty looking dispenser is still there, quite unused, with a bottle of palmolive dish soap sitting next to it. Unfortunately, the recollection that I had purchased it through krausoutlet.com did not come back to me until the deadline for returning it had passed. I do not think that there can be any guarantee that the problem will not be repeated if I purchase yet another dispenser from Kraus, so I’m about to begin a search for a dispenser from another manufacturer that will fit in the hole. I think it’s fair to label this situation an excrement sandwich.

   Looks good. Not as chrome as I thought it would be though so it doesn’t match as well. It’s more like brushed nickel chrome. And the spring mechanism frequently gets stuck and takes a long time to pop back up so it occasionally fails at being a soap dispenser.

   This unit has a longer spout than most which was essential for my particular application. Installation was a breeze compared to the older Kraus model I was replacing, largely because the new unit has a plastic spud nut beneath the countertop instead of a 30mm stainless steel hex nut.

   Bought this to replace the one that came with our Moen faucet, and what an improvement. It is all metal and pumps so much better. I would recommend this to all.

   Has a long spout which we need for our sink. The unit stays primed and you get a good amount of soap from one pump. The bottle is a little wider than our previous one so it was a tight fit against the wall under the sink, but it works. The color is a little less shiny the the other “stainless steel” finish products in our kitchen, but it’s something probably only we would notice. Overall would recommend.

   After 2 months of usage, the KSD-53SS soap dispenser failed. The pump head stuck in the press down position. Bad experience. Email the company, Kraus, for repair or replacement. But the company CS does not response. I take it they do not warranty their products after sale.
