   Two hundred dollar filter system with 5 cent Chinese water line connectors. Normally, under your sink, there are screw together connections that require Teflon tape. NOT this. Cheap push in plastic line with a small blue collar to hold them in place. Three different points of failure and at any given time…one of them will be leaking. Don’t waste your time or money. Kraus sent me all new connections when I complained. Excellent customer service. Same outcome however after being very careful and precise. Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip…. You get the picture.

   While the filter itself works fine, we used the hoses that came with the product. During its use, the hoses became disconnected and flooded my NEW kitchen floor. We bought hoses that were sturdier and now it works fine.

   The product was fairly easy to install, but I had to buy an adapter to fit my water pipe. Water tastes very clean and crisp and the flow rate is good.

   The good: excellent filtration properties, easy setup and installation in theory (see below for practice). Water flow is ok, but don’t expect anything close to the faucet’s flow. I also like the fact that the filter keeps track of filter usage, so I won’t use depleted filters. The bad: changing batteries and filters is not easy, so make sure you have plenty of connector length available, or you’ll have to detach the inlet and outlet connectors. Also, customer support is not good! after talking with a representative on the phone she told me to send pics over sms and someone will get back to me. It’s been over 24h and no one called or messaged back. The ugly: The tee provided is 3/8″ compression threaded. Problem is, the inside diameter of the tee is smaller than the typical 3/8 faucet connector brass pipe (see picture), so the brass pipe doesn’t fit inside the tee and you can not screw it tightly. I had to buy a new tee to solve this problem. Once I installed the new tee, installation was a breeze and all worked really well.

   Very nice quality and is similar to my EcoWater reverse osmosis system that was previously installed. I did not want to pay $175 for proprietary cartridges every 6 mos so decided to replace it with this system. The problem I encountered was how to connect the Kraus tubing to the existing tubing for the refrigerator. Learned the hard way that you need to connect with a SharkBite connection which cost me $14 plus a big water cleanup when I tried inserting the Kraus 1/4″ tubing into the 3/8″ existing tubing.

    So far so good
