   I purchased this kitchen faucet several months ago. It looks fantastic and higher end than its price tag would suggest. It sometimes shows fingerprints but after several months of constant use it still looks really nice. I initially tried installing it myself and got as far as connecting the hot and cold water lines before I had to call in the professionals. The first part couldn’t have been easier but the problem that I ran into was that the hot and cold lines were too short to connect to their corresponding pipes under the sink. I don’t know if this was an issue with the faucet itself not having long enough lines or with my house just not having long enough pipes under the sink. It was a quick fix from a plumber and it was all installed. I really do love it. It looks so nice on my farmhouse sink.

   Marriage is about compromise…if it were up to me, I would have a full on industrial kitchen faucet. On the other hand, while my wife likes the functionality provided by by a spray nozzle, she prefers something that looks more traditional and not nearly so large. Well after looking through several websites, we found ourselves back at krausoutlet.com. Initially, we had selected the kraus workstation sink along with this faucet. We had to return the sink and get a ruvati because of the size, but the faucet remained. This faucet is well suited for these large, deep sinks. We looked at several traditional faucets that I felt would function more like a hose spigot next to a lake — they just didn’t have the coverage. The large arc of this faucet provides excellent coverage for the sink, and the extendable nozzle completes the job (note: the spray nozzle retracts easily on its own, you do not have to coax it into place) The faucet’s control is responsive with no slop in what equates to about a 30 degree arc to determine water flow and a 90 degree arc to determine temperature. While the control looked diminutive to me at first, it’s size and precision has completely led me to rethink my initial assessment. This is like a modern sports car’s steering compared to an early 70’s GM vehicle that would take a couple of turns of the wheel to simply turn right or left. Additionally, off is off…no need to jiggle, or move around…return the control back to the left and the water stops. If you want an industrial faucet in a stylish cover, I cannot recommend this faucet more highly. If you want a stylish faucet that works really well, this ones for you.

   I decided to get this faucet since well-designed traditional faucets are not easy to find and can be ridiculously expensive. I like the fact that these Kraus faucets are beautifully designed and reasonably priced at the same time. Installation was pretty easy. The hardest part is that you have to attach the water hoses after the faucet is in place, so you you have to reach up and tighten fittings in a pretty uncomfortable position. The best part, which makes up for the hoses, is that the large nut that secures the faucet in place has 3 screws on it which can be tightened against the metal washer with a large slot-type screwdriver, causing the faucet to be very strongly attached. This is much easier and more effective than trying to tighten a regular nut up against the washer; this is how all faucets should be designed. On my unit the faucet was rather stiff to swivel back and forth. I solved this by pressing the small black button on the back of the gooseneck, lifting the gooseneck off and putting some additional faucet grease on the o-rings, etc., now it’s perfect. You have to make sure the little black button is centered over the hole when you re-attach the gooseneck. The action of the water control is very nice, easy and smooth. There is a button on the back of the head to switch from stream to spray which also operates very easily. When you turn the faucet off it returns to stream, so you can’t just leave it in spray mode. As you can see in the photo, I also bought a Kraus drain cover, which covers up the black hole of the disposal. It’s raised up on plastic tabs so that the water and small particles drain underneath it. It does not plug the drain. Love it.

   I ordered this faucet as a replacement for a Delta we had installed when we built our house 3 years ago. The Delta was impossible to turn off and always leaked. I was nervous because I am not familiar with the Kraus brand, but I can say that this faucet is superior to the Delta we had! The faucet is beautiful and well made. It feels sturdy and looks more substantial. The flow is far better too. My husband did have to buy longer hoses, but that is not a big deal. It took him 15 minutes to install, including removing the old faucet. He said it was very easy… and he’s no plumber! He complained about having to do it, far longer than it took to actually get it done! One week in, I feel that we received an excellent value for the money spent. If that changes, I will update my review. The one minor downside is that the nozzle is not magnetic and I do have to gently tap it into place.

   Nice quality faucet. Don’t waste your money on the sub $100 kitchen faucets. Another tip…. check the ‘gallons per minute’ flow rate. My old faucet must have been a ‘water saver’ or something because it had a very slow flow rate. Most faucets are at least 1.5 gpm, but this faucet is 1.8 gpm, and I can really tell the difference.

   Installation was relatively easy. If it’s hard to reach the nut holding the faucet in place under the sink, go to Home Depot and buy a basin wrench for like $18. It allows you to reach up to the nut and loosen it.

    I’ve only had this faucet for about a week, so I can’t speak to how long it will last, but I really like it so far. What I Like: 1) Great chrome finish. 2) The little on/off temperature lever is very smooth and easy to use, and at just the right height. 3) The styling is nicely transitional, so not too modern and not too old fashioned. Really classic. 4) The water flows strongly and evenly. 5) The spray nozzle has a great toggle switch to take you from solid stream to spray and works easily. 6) It pulls down with just enough slack to move the nozzle around as needed on big pots or to rinse the sink. What I Don’t Like: 1) Really nothing so far. The only thing I can think of has nothing to do with this specific product but more to the entire category of pull-down nozzle faucet sets. Most of the design for these nozzles has a counter weight under the sink that lifts the nozzle back into its place after it has been pulled down. It’s a basic design that works fine. However, in many cabinets, the heavy weight under the sink will swing around and knock into the cabinet. This creates a knocking or banging sound every time you pull it down that might annoy some people. What I did that worked great was to get one of those small felt furniture pads that you put on the feet of chairs to avoid scratching hardwood floors. I just stuck it on the side of the weight that was swinging into the cabinet and to my surprise, it totally got rid of any sounds. Super quiet now. So needless to say, I highly recommend this faucet. And hopefully it will last as long as the one it replaced. Happy faucet hunting.

    LOVE this faucet..!!! Bought to replace shiny chrome faucet (required CONSTANT wiping to look clean), it looks PERFECT in our kitchen and works flawlessly. It did come with a “water limiter” in the line, but that wasn’t difficult to remove. GREAT value for the money. Sprayer is truly functional and easy to engage / disengage. Easier than most kitchen faucets we’ve had to install. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a replacement kitchen faucet.
